He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth and Justin Matthews, III; and his brother Justin Somers Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Christy Treat Matthews; his children, Elizabeth and Connor Matthews of California; and his siblings, Alice, Hal Matthews (Vicki) and Joseph. He is also survived by his many friends and co-workers.
