He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Francis and Robert M. VanHook; and his siblings, Helen VanHook and Robert VanHook. He is survived by: his wife Linda Burrow VanHook; his children, Robert Thomas "Tom" VanHook (Deanna) and Sarah Hatley (Eric); his grandchildren, Robert VanHook (Annika) of Sherwood, Laura VanHook, Thomas Hatley of Nashville and Miriam Hatley of Sewanee, Tennessee.; his brother Kenny VanHook (Dinah) of El Dorado; his cousin Virginia Moore Smith (Burrow) of Houston; his in-laws, Barbara Deuschle (Frank) of Hot Springs, Tommy Burrow (Meg) of Hot Springs, Sally Simpson (Bruce) of Hot Springs, Holly Farrell (Rob) of Dallas and Jim Burrow (Emily) of Little Rock; and his caregiver Chris Braithwaite. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A reception was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Second Presbyterian Church (600 Pleasant Valley Dr, Little Rock, AR 72227).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hendrix College or Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
