He was predeceased by: his parents, James Stoops and Lois Stoops (Miller); his wife Sharon Rule; his brothers, James and Merrell Stoops of Beaufort, SC; his sisters-in-law, Karen and Linda Stoops of Pensacola, FL; and his siblings' children, Cindy Stoops, Sean and Ian Stoops.
He is survived by: his daughters, Michelle Carney (Allen Carney) of Little Rock and Monica Stoops (Chris Dechant) of Omaha, NE; his grandson Logan Carney of Little Rock; his brother Dennis Stoops; his niece Erin Stoops Davis; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Liam of Pensacola, FL, Logan Koebel of Pensacola, FL, Cayden and Bria Stoops; his niece Samantha Stoops Wagaman (Jeff Wagaman); his great-nephews, Derek Wagaman (Kylie Wagaman) and Troy Wagaman (Jacie Davidson); his nephew Michael Stoops; his great-nephews, Justin and Alex Stoops; his niece Kristina Ward; his great-nephews, Vincent and Paul Ward; his cousins, Shelva Jean Martin of Waynesboro, PA, Kay Singer of Waynesboro, PA, Bonnie Rhodes of Waynesboro, PA, Sharon Miller of Waynesboro, PA, Cathy Weber of Waynesboro, PA, Larry Miller of Waynesboro, PA, Karen Herrmann of Waynesboro, PA and Teresa Baker of Waynesboro, PA; his niece Beth White (Brian White); his great-nieces, Sarah White and Emily White (Nathan Hurst); and his nephew Craig Douglas of Frederick, MD..
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel (13801 Chenal Pkwy, Little Rock, AR 72211).
The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Gary's name to The Former Agents of the FBI Foundation or Rotary International in lieu of flowers.
