He was predeceased by: his parents, Ivy Love Sr. and Lorine Givens Love; his brother Ivy Love Jr.; his son Jimmy Lewis Love; his nephews, Vernon Love and Joseph Love; and his grandson Rico Swift.

He is survived by: his children, James Dennis Love and Jamie Love-Pace; his sister Lauretta Sanders (Joe); his grandchildren, Derrick Love and Mystique A. Love; and his nephews, Tony Sanders, Ricky Love, Cedric Reynolds and Lannon Love.
