He was predeceased by: his parents, Nancy B. Johnson and James E. Johnson, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Twardeck Johnson; his children, Caroline Beck Johnson and James Edwin "Jed" Johnson IV of Little Rock; his sisters, Anne Hitch (Jim) and Jane White (Dunlop) of Winston-Salem, NC; his parents-in-law, Sandy and Tom Twardeck; his nieces, Nancy Walker White, McCray White and Taryn Twardeck; his nephew William Twardeck; Tim Twardeck of Scottsdale, AZ. He is also survived by several aunts and many cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Second Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, CHI St. Vincent Foundation, or UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
