Kurt Arthur Neumann Obituary

Kurt Arthur Neumann, 91 of Little Rock, Ark., entered into the arms of his loving Lord and Savior on Friday, November 11, 2022 after his courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 6, 1931 in Marietta, Ohio, to Clinton and Edith Neumann and was the youngest of 3 children. He grew up in a small Ohio town. In high school, he excelled in both academics and sports.
He entered the United States Air Force in 1954 and served at Robins AFB, Warner Robins, Ga., as a Paramedic. He met his wife Rachel, while attending Bible Baptist Temple and they married in June 1957. He was later transferred to Shaw AFB in Sumter, S.C., where he was attached to the 17th tactical fighter squadron. During his service at Shaw he deployed to Norway for a search and rescue mission, and to Saudi Arabia for desert rescue operations.
He was honorably discharged in 1984, and entered the University of South Carolina, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in History. God was the center of his life and he loved and lived his life by the Bible. He was a devoted Christian serving God for his entire adult life. He taught adult Sunday School for 25 years and served as a minister of music for 20 years.
He was a man of great humor and delighted in making people laugh. After reading the book, "The Greatest Miracle", by Og Mandino, his mission in life was to help those who were broken and hurting, and called himself a "rag picker" of people. His life way mark was, "I am first a servant, living my life in the service of others. I will live a life of integrity, seeking to honor God, my family, and my country. I will live a passionate life and seek to encourage others. Through a close relationship with God I will put aside fear and anger and instead, live a life filled with gratitude and humor. I am a rag picker."
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Erik and Mary Dougherty of Lawrenceville, NJ; grandchildren, Sadie, Josh, Alex, Ryan and Jacob Neumann; step grandchildren, Alicyn, Greg, and Ginger Goostree; step great grandchildren, Jade, Bryce, and Broch Osterhoff and Gavin Murray.
A Celebration of his life will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, November 26, at Paradise funeral home, 206 S Cross St, Little Rock, AR. Burial will follow at Riverwood Memorial Garden in Maumelle. The family would like to thank the compassionate nurses, doctors and employees of Baptist Hospital Emergency Department, CARTI Little Rock, and Arkansas Hospice for your love and care of our dear husband, father, and brother during his courageous battle.
