She was predeceased by: her parents, Jane McKinney Fuller and Curtis McKinney; her stepfather Harry Fuller; and her grandson Matthew Murray. She is survived by: her husband Richard Short; her children, Powell Hazzard (Cathy), Curtis Hazzard (Cindy), Anthony Short (Kim) and Ginna Murray (Andy); her siblings, Ashley Bourne (Chris), Vinnie McKinney and Charles McKinney; and her grandchildren, Lindsey Groth (John), Sarah Sweat (Matt), Drew Murray and Gabe Short. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members, dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Laurie's honor to Alzheimer's Arkansas or the American Heart Association.
