We announce the death of Leon Franklin (Little Rock, Arkansas), who passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Franklin Sr. and Scottie Mae Franklin-Shelton; his stepfather Cap Shelton; his siblings, Vanette Medlock, Dixie O'Neal Franklin, Lonnie Franklin Jr. and A. C. Shelton Sr.; his nephews, Wilson Lavell Medlock, A. C. Shelton Jr. and James Leavy-Franklin Sr.; his niece Jasmine Franklin; and his grandsons, Baby Phillip McClinton and Hueghy McClinton Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Cassandra McClinton of Milwaukee, WI., Risa Jiles of Milwaukee, WI. and Lorraine Franklin of Mississippi; his former wife Johnnie Mae Franklin; and his close friend Earnistine Chase. He is also survived by Eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
