With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mark Allen Schlesinger (Little Rock, Arkansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 7, 2026 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Barbara Schlesinger and Howard Schlesinger; and his godparents, Joe and Carolyn Tenenbaum. He is survived by: his friend Dick Kelley; his family Dr. Thurston Bauer; his caregiver Loren Basinger; his friends, Gus Lira, Karen Hickman Jones and Skip; his daughter Sofie; his siblings, Debbie Schlesinger (Julie Lawrence) and Dr. Scott Schlesinger (Kelli); his niece Maci; his nephew Jude; his uncle Gene Rubin; his pet Balla; Skip and Virginia Kelley (Oaklawn).
His passing followed a courageous six-year battle with complications from COVID-19 ARDS for which he underwent a lung transplant at UT Southwestern 5 years ago.
