He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Cates and Ruth Cates; and his grandparents, East of Texas and Woods. He is survived by: his spouse Jean Hanna; his son-in-law Chuck; his granddaughter Hanna; his daughters, Regina (Barbara) and Rachel; his grandson Justin Morse (Adair); and his great grandchildren, David, Reagan Gray, Caleb, Charlie, Silas and Samuel.
