He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Thurman and Florence Freeman Thurman; his wife Lorene Lewis Thurman; and his siblings, Frank Thurman, Grace Calhoun and Janis Mollerberg.
He is survived by: his sisters, Charlotte Pratt (Leroy), Joan Taunton and Paula McLoud (Lorin); his daughters, Kellie Trout, Christina Brooks and Aymie Weiss; his stepdaughters, Billie Wice and Gail Beddingfield; his sons, James Thurman, Richard Thurman and Thomas Thurman; and his stepson Richard Lewis. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
