He was predeceased by: his parents, Rice A. Johnston and Flora Johnston; and his wife Peggy Oakley Johnston of Keiser, Arkansas.. He is survived by: his sons, Bobby Joel Johnston II (Jamie) of Marion and Benjamin Rice Johnston of Luxora, Arkansas; his sisters, Rebecca "Becky" Hill of Pocahontas and Mildred "Millie" Saracini of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Bobby Joel "Trey" Johnston III (Scarlett) of Quitman, Tyler James Johnston of Cave Springs and Regan Johnston Poe (Brian) of Cave Springs, Arkansas; and his great grandchildren, Gannon Johnston of Cave Springs and Vallie Johnston of Quitman.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Luxora, Arkansas.
