He was predeceased by: his wife Marilyn "Jan" Wilcher; his mother-in-law Myra Lockett King; his sister Willie Jo Lindsey; and his mother Alma Wilcher. He is survived by: his son Ken Rhodes (Carla); his grandchildren, Chris Rhodes (Jonathan), Andrew Rhodes (Jennifer) and Patrick Rhodes; his great grandchild McKenna Rhodes; and his nephew Nathan Wilcher.
