With sadness, we share the passing of Melva Sue Burton (Malvern, Arkansas). Melva, born on December 26, 1932, passed away on September 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Needham and Roxa Elnora Burris (Johnson); her husband Blackie; and her siblings, Alma Morrison, Elum Burris and Mitchell Burris.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Swenson, Patricia Hall (Richard), Stephen Burton (Rebecca) and Larry Burton (Pamela); her grandchildren, Bethany Singletary, Tiffany Swenson, Nathan Hall (Hilary), Aaron Hall (Alisa), Julie Bowes (Rodney), Kevin Burton (Sarah), Skylar Grey and Jeremy Burton (Yolanda); her great grandchildren, Daisy, Alex, Kyle, Vicki, Valarie, Dean, Dexter, Evelyn, Hazel, Juniper, Jackson, Emma, William, Sierra, Adelia, John, Anora and Zoë; her siblings-in-law, Frank Burton (Linda) and Margie Burton; Ron Ray. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Atkinson Funeral Home & Chapel (126 E 2nd St, Malvern, AR 72104). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
