He was predeceased by: his father Theodore Shover; his stepmother Nancy Shover; his mother Harriet Parsons; his brothers, Theodore Shover, Vance Shover and Charles Shover; and his grandson Joseph.
He is survived by: his wife Anita Shover (Joas); and his children, Jennifer Hampton of Franklinville, NJ, Robert Shover Jr. of Franklinville, NJ and Ashley Shover of Malvern, AR.. He is also survived by two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
