She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry H. Merritt and Olive Coston Merritt; her husband Boyd Cardin; her siblings, J. W. Merritt, Margaret Snedden Critz, Barbara Merritt, Charles Merritt, Robert Merritt, Carl Merritt and Harry Merritt; and her granddaughter Cara Lynn Cardin.

She is survived by: her children, Rosemarie Cardin (David Allen) of Hot Springs and Daniel Cardin (Stacey) of Scott, Arkansas; her stepson Paul Cardin (Theda) of Malvern; her grandchildren, Zachary Cardin, Michael Cardin, Alyssa Cardin and Ben Cardin (Nina); her sister Mary Kay Ault of Magnolia, Texas; and her sister-in-law Barbara Merritt of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Harp Cemetery.
