Geraldine Powell Obituary

Geraldine Powell, age 73, passed away on January 16, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City, Arkansas under the care of Elite Hospice Care of Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on February 17, 1951 to Theodore and Etta (Tyree) Bandy. She was a wonderful mother, sister, and friend.

She joined the job core at 18 and moved from Arkansas to Texas and became a CAN. She married and raised two beautiful children. She then beat cancer, raised two of her brother's children, while going back to school to get a bachelor's degree in social work. She was a landlord of an apartment complex in Bono, Arkansas for years. After all her children were raised, her children in Texas got sick, so she moved back to Texas till both of her children passed. She then moved back to Jonesboro until she passed away.

Survivors include; two children: Curtis Shane Hardin and Amber Lopez; eleven grandchildren; one brother: Bob Hardin (Jane); three sisters: Brenda Metz, Joyce Metz, Sandra Louise Stevens Wallis; and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by; her parents; two children: Marsha Mooneyham and Billy Powell; seven brothers: Jessie Hardin, Curtis Hardin, James Bandy, David Hardin, Raymond Hardin, Billy Hardin, Gerald Caprain; and two sisters: Marie Graham and Shirley Mreen.

The family has requested private arrangements under the direction of Faith Funeral Service.
