Madonna Ann Plunkett Obituary
Madonna Ann (Bell) Plunkett, age 82, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, AR.
Born on April 12, 1944, in Mangrum, AR, she was the daughter of the late J.L. and Mary Lucille Bell. She attended Caraway High School and went on to Memphis School of Commerce before starting her career as in tax preparation and bookkeeping. She took immense pride in serving the agricultural community and families in the Buffalo Island area over multiple generations
Above all her accomplishments, her life was defined by her devotion to her faith and her family. She was a longtime member of Mangrum Church of Christ and later as a member of the Monette Church of Christ. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she established a legacy of love, grace, and hospitality. Her home was the central gathering place for generations of family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James Dewey Plunkett; her children, Jalena Primm, Michel (Missy) Meadows and Rick, JoEllen (Jody) Sturgeon and Al, and Heath Primm and Jennifer; her grandchildren, Erica Grimes, Nicolas Bagley (Brooke), Justin Bagley (Macy), Ashley King (Zach), Hillary Sturgeon, Hannah Primm, Bradley Meadows, Jenna Primm; her great-grandchildren, Avery Bagley, Asher Bagley, and Asa Bagley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Bell, and her son, James Lee Plunkett.
A public visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2026 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Monette Church of Christ, 702 W. Drew Ave, Monette, AR. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am at the church with Josh Parnell officiating. Interment will follow at Caraway Cemetery.
