Thomas Peery Ray Obituary
Thomas Peery Ray age 92 transitioned to his heavenly home on September 1, 2026 from his home in Imboden, Arkansas.
He was born on July 13, 1934 in Huffman, Arkansas to Tommy and Preston Peery Ray.
Thomas, better known as Buddy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a prayer warrior. Many prayers were prayed over those in need from his living room. Sundays were for taking his family to church and long afternoon drives singing gospel songs together.
Buddy was born in the Mississippi Delta where he and his family picked cotton and survived the great depression. Buddy was always a hard worker. He retired from the United States Post Office where he delivered mail for 30 years in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Buddy was a brilliant man. In younger years he could hear a plane fly over and tell you what kind of plane it was. He was a speed reader. He could take a phone number, skim through the thick phone book and tell you who the number belonged to. There wasn't much that he couldn't fix with a little duct tape or JB Weld. His quick wit kept his family and friends laughing. He called it his "senseless humor".
Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Brenda King Ray of Imboden, AR. His children Suzzane (Ken) Olson of Millington, TN; Angie (Shawn) Roberts of Imboden, AR; Matthew (Shelli) Womack of Jonesboro, AR; Amy (Bobby) Turner of Black Rock, AR. His siblings Mary Ella Battles of Blytheville, AR; Nancy Plunkett of Bono, AR; Albert (Lavita) Ray of Bryant, AR; Robert (Elaine) Ray of Caruthersville, MO; Elmer Ray of West Memphis, AR. And 17 grandchildren who affectionately called him Peepaw, Poppy and Grandpa!
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers Carl Ray and Steve Ray and one grandson Nicholas Robertson.
Pall bearers: Ken Olson, Shawn Roberts, Bobby Turner, Ty Roberts, River Womack, Heath Robertson, Clinton Wallace, Jacob Wallace (honorary), Matthew Womack (honorary), Jeromy Roberts (honorary).
