With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene Mort of Mansfield, Arkansas, born in Fort Smith, Arkansas, who passed away on April 16, 2024 at the age of 72. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the vast expanse of eternity, Gene shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Gene farewell, we carry with us the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding us through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Vyron Glen and Mary Ann Mort (Michael). He is survived by : his wife Rita Mort; his children, Christopher Mort (Tara) of Mansfield, Crystal Mort of Las Vegas, NV and Michelle Wilburn of Fort Smith; his grandchildren, Caroline, Collins, Blake, Rileigh and Jayce; and his brother Michael Mort (Jane Ann) of Holly Lake, TX.

Viewing was held on Sunday, April 21st 2024 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McConnell Funeral Home (137 N Main St, Greenwood, AR 72936). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Fellowship Baptist Church (111 College Rd, Huntington, AR 72940).
