He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Sr. "Buster" Allen and Virginia Louise Allen; his son William Bart Allen; and his brothers, Garland Allen, Jr., Ronald Allen Sr. and Thomas Allen.

He is survived by: his wife Alice Allen; his daughter Blakely Stokenbury (Scott); his grandchildren, Sarah Kate, Caroline and Will; and his sister Carolyn Allen Tyner.
