He was predeceased by : his parents, Glenda Mae Thompson Battershell and N. F. Battershell; and his sister Sandy Field. He is survived by : his wife Kandus Ledford Battershell; his children, Darin Battershell of Marshall, Dennin Battershell of Marshall, Brandy McCoy (Nathaniel) of Republic and Lacey Ledford of Marshall; his grandchildren, Angelo Jett (Darriel) of Honolulu, Mykala Battershell of Harrison, Bailey Battershell of Greensville and Kaydence Ledford of Marshall; his great grandchildren, Cameron Jett and Camilla Jett; and his sisters, Joan Field of Kentucky, Beth Tyler of Marshall, Shelly Holliman of Harriet, Natha Davis of Marshall and Mary Bottorf of Harrison. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Denny Battershell memorial fund at First National Bank in Marshall, Arkansas.
