It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Patrick Raney (Mayflower, Arkansas), who passed away on December 18, 2019, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James "Holly" and Mary Francis "Poopsie"; his sister Ann (Royce Harrell); and his brother-in-law Frankie Harrell. He is survived by : his sister Janice Harrell; his sons, Mike (Leigh Ann), Tim (Jo Ann) and Pat (Lynn); his grandchildren, Michael (Lindsey), Jared, Matt, Ashley Roberts (Tyler), Darren, Josh, Jacob (Kimber) and Holly; and his great grandchildren, Luke, Walker, Kinley and Kenzie. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, as well as great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mayflower United Methodist Church.

“I was thinking about Jim today. I just discovered that he had passed away a few years ago. I wish I had known. I don’t know if his family are still notified of posted memorials but I need to share. When my family moved to Mayflower in the 1990s, one of the first people I met was Jim. We hit it off immediately. Jim and I, as well as other residents of the community, shared a common bond and Jim worked so hard to help us all. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was a fantastic person.””
