He was predeceased by: his parents, John Wesley and Hazel M. Meeks; his siblings, Larry, Cecil and Beatrice; his son JB Jr. (Bucky); and his granddaughter Cassandra (Cassie).
He is survived by: his wife Maggie Meeks; his children, Sharon Avey (Jud), Leila Ritter (Rick), Patsy Blevins (Danny) and John C. Meeks; and his sisters, Christine Robertson, Margret Rone (Danny) and Hazel Mae Sherrill (Johnny). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
