It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Lee Yates of McCrory, Arkansas, born in Bradford, Arkansas, who passed away on April 15, 2024, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Frank Yates and Fannie Yates; his son Danny Yates; and his siblings, Dorothy Poole and Franklin Yates.

He is survived by : his wife Doris Yates; his daughters, Karen Kennedy (John) of Batesville and Sharen DeWitt (Todd) of Searcy; and his grandchildren, Darren Walls, Aliyah Halfacre, Ashlyn Curlette, Hailee Walls, Tyla DeWitt and Brylee DeWitt. He is also survived by extended family and countless friends.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Home of Woodruff County (700 N 9th St, Augusta, AR 72006). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Pumpkin Bend Community Church (4733-4815 AR-269, McCrory, AR 72101). A burial was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at the Pumpkin Bend Cemetery (74 Woodruff County Rd 350 Rd, McCrory, AR 72101).
