He was predeceased by : his parents, Ralph Allen Carter and Sallie Carter Williams; his son Robert Wayne Carter; and his sisters, Victoria Ann Carter and Sandra Dechaine.

He is survived by : his children, Gary Carter (Kasey) of Des Arc, Kelli Carter of Des Arc and Monie Brehmer (J. T.) of Dexter, Missouri; his close friend Carolyn Faulkner of Jonesboro; and his grandchildren, Kilah Williams, Jurnee of Washington, Zaida Carter, Austin Carter, Robbie Harwell, Will Brehmer and Meagan DeLisle. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives; and a lifetime of great friends.
