We are sad to announce that, on October 17, 2025, at the age of 85, Lydia Mae Strayhorn of McRae, Arkansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Lydia is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Lydia's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Rutledge (Shorty) and Pearl Rutledge; her foster parents, Raymond Hartwick and Gladys Hartwick; her close friends, Banette, Janice and Sue; and her children, Sharlet Luebke (Daniel) and Bruce Strayhorn (Ginger).
She is survived by: her husband William "Frank" Strayhorn; and her grandchildren, Devon Carpenter, Ashley Paige Kemp and Abigail Clark. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
