He was predeceased by: his parents, John Owen and Sibyl Emily Walker Harvell; his son Michael Joe Harvell; and his sisters, Doris Jean Hutchins, Wanda Daphene Byram and Myrna Joye Harvell.

He is survived by: his former spouse Robbie Jean Miller; his children, Timothy Wayne and Robin Annette; his wife Phyllis Rose Bogenshutz; his children, Tim Harvell and Jennifer Kelch; his stepchildren, April "Michelle" Gray and Jonathan "Jonny" Forrest Harvey; his siblings, Sammie Gaye Balentine, Kenneth, Roger and Grady Harvell; and his nephews, Donald, Ronnie, Dennis Hutchins, Greg, Jeff Stroud, Sam, Nathan Edwards, Anthony, David Harvell, Rob and Eric Harvell. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces, and countless friends.
