He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Nystrom and Louvisa Wheeler Nystrom; his wife Sarah "Sally" Nystrom; and his siblings, Neoma Mueller, Lowell "Bud" Nystrom, Mary Lou Alsin, Vera Baker, Verna Nystrom and Darwin Nystrom.
He is survived by: his children, Joseph Nystrom of Watauga, R. D. Nystrom of Okmulgee, Dean Nystrom of Cabot, Arkansas and Sandra Elfo of Frendale, Washington; and his brother Joseph Dale Nystrom of San Francisco, California. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
