He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Van Pelt (Dottie); his children, Trever Van Pelt, Tucker Van Pelt, Tieler Van Pelt (Sophia Van Pelt), Steven Van Pelt, Vernon Van Pelt and Tammie Van Pelt (Nick); his grandchildren, Mady Van Pelt, Willow Van Pelt, Hailey Van Pelt, Kendra Van Pelt and Jordan Trigvue; and his siblings, John Van Pelt, Tamelia Ryan, Michaela McAllister and Rubye McConnell. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
