With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles LaVaughn Thurman of Monticello, Arkansas, who passed away on April 22, 2023 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent J. C.; his wife Mildred Carr Thurman; his son Shane Thurman; and his brothers, Adrian Thurman, Dobbie Thurman, Laron (Thurman), Marshall Thurman, Keith Thurman and Jimmy Carr Thurman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Trenia Martin (Kevin) of Lacey and Karla Maxwell; his stepchildren, Michael Kellum of Memphis, TN, Katherine and Lyon of Monticello; his grandchildren, Malorie Gossman (Mack) of Monticello, Drake Martin of Hamburg, Brandon Lyon, Dr. Rachel Harrison, Rebecca Shaw and Ryan Kellum; his great grandchildren, Ellorie, Gossman of Monticello and Koen Martin of Hamburg; his siblings, Maye Carter of Crossett, Faye Wilhite of Lacey and Lamar Thurman (Gloria) of Crossett; and his cousin Kerry Jean Hackney. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
