We are sad to announce that, on April 25, 2026, at the age of 84, Jim DeFir of Monticello, Arkansas passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jim DeFir to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Moore DeFir, Sr. and Laura Esther Slaughter DeFir; and his siblings, Walter DeFir, Robert DeFir, Jr., Kilbourne, David Daniel DeFir, Norma Burton and Lois Bowers.

He is survived by: his daughter Penny Martin; his granddaughter Ashley Vest; his siblings, William (DeFir), Gail Williams, Grace Acord, Gwen DeFir and Diane Maddox; and his caregiver Brad DeFir. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Jim's honor.
