He was predeceased by: his parents, Earnest Haynes and Lucy Douthard Haynes; his siblings, Minnie Mae Jackson, Earnestine Clary, Sarah White, Lonzella Lambert, Ernest Wesley Haynes, James David Haynes and Roy Lee Haynes; his son Shannon Haynes; and his grandchildren, Ashunti McClinton and Cameron Haynes.
He is survived by: his children, Lashawn McClinton of Monticello, John Haynes, Jr. of Monticello and Brandon Haynes, Sr. of Monticello; his siblings, Bobby Haynes of North Carolina, Linda Haynes of Little Rock and Betty Haynes of Milwaukee, WI; and his grandchildren, Mario Hunter, Marshata Moore, Dessence McClinton, Janyah Haynes and Brandon Haynes, Jr.. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
