He was predeceased by: his parents, Zula Jones Sims and Arthur Sims; his siblings, Agie, Burl, Doyle, Rose and Eva; his son Art Sims Jr.; and his father-in-law James Kusturin.
He is survived by: his wife Jamie Kusturin Sims; his siblings, Drue Sims (Beverly) and Becky Conliff; his children, Melissa Bass (Pete), Marley Sims, Greg Sims (Allissa) and Scott Sims (McKenzi); his grandchildren, Will Sims (Abby), Greyson, Bo Sims, Ryan Bass (Jessy) and Lauren Skinner (Shane); his great grandchildren, Layla Skinner, Alexa, Keaton, Callie and Skylar Bass; his brother-in-law James Kusturin Jr. (Dara); his mother-in-law Mary Harness Kusturin (John); and his pets, Prince, Cracker, Stormie, Walker of Tennessee and Traveler. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, many lifelong friends.
