For Bennie is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Louise Kidd and Linton Kidd; and his son Bennie. He was also cherished by his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Bennie's life stands as a testimony to redemption, grace, and the power of a changed heart.The family requests that donations to the American Legion Post 39 be made in lieu of flowers.

“Bennie at 15 years- After his losing his dad early in life, he moved from rural Arkansas to Michigan. From farmland to a concrete city of 200,000 people. Imagine going to high school knowing no one. Then returning to a home with new rules. Rules made by a man different than the father you lost. I was 3 turning 4, when Bennie came. I loved him as deeply as a small child could. He did that. Although his life was in turmoil, he still cared for me. I’ll always love him as my brother.”
