He was predeceased by: his parents, David W. Wells and Ima Pearl Wells; and his brothers, LaRue, Gene, Lawrence and Darrell Wells.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jean Smithson Wells; his daughters, Angel Stout Pandovani and Brandy Crawford Letterman; his grandchildren, Aria Rosson, Sadie Letterman and Noah Letterman; his great grandchild Caiden Gibson; and his son-in-law Allester Padovani. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
