She was predeceased by : her parents, William Tharp and Nettie Tharp; her spouse Ottis Barnes; her siblings, Monroe Tharp and Pauline Tharp; and her daughter Elaine Thomas.

She is survived by : her son Orbin Barnes (Marie) of Greenbrier; her son-in-law Michael Thomas of Floral; her sister Bettie Treece (Garner) of Mountain View; her grandchildren, Christopher Thomas of Floral, Fount Barnes of Sheridan and Mary Beth Jackson (Leo) of Paragould; and her great grandchildren, Landon, Mackenzie, Sawyer Jackson, Cheyenne Richardson, Brandon and Ottis Barnes.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Roller Crouch Chapel (405 S Peabody Ave, Mountain View, AR 72560). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church (2208 Sugar Hill Rd, Mountain View, AR 72560).

As the church grew and they needed more land, she and Ottis donated land to the church so they could serve more people in their community.
