She was predeceased by: her parents, Kelsey Harper and Verna Harper; her siblings, Jean Oldner, Don Harper and Caroline Oldner; her children, Karen Elmore and Gary Epton; her grandson Ron Elmore, Jr.; her stepdaughter Leslie Peterson; and her former husbands, James Peterson and Clarence Anthony of Murfreesboro.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Middleton, Jamie Mixon (Kevin) and Pamela Dutra (Nelson); her stepson Russell Peterson; and her grandchildren, Shawn Culpepper, Todd Elmore, Jennifer Lee, Amber Henderson, Julie White, Sarah Mixon, Katie Mixon, Justin Dutra, Lauren Eichman and Jackie Conrad. She is also survived by several great‑grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer's Association in Shirley's honor.
