He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Russell and Edna Currel (Nichols); his siblings, David Ray Russell, Gordan Chaney, Burley George, Eugene George, James George and Ann Chaney; and his grandson Briar Scott Balch.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry Mayfield of Waldenburg and Jennifer Balch of Newport; his sisters, Rebecca Smith of Carlisle and Cindy Russell of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Jace Balch, Braxton Emery, Raina Lee and Taylor Balch; and his great grandchildren, Abbie Gibson and Briar Gibson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
