With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Clara Smart of Newport, Arkansas, who passed away on September 5, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Franklin "Ed" Fortune and Nellie Beulah Fortune-Milligan (Henson); and her siblings, Steve B. Fortune and Lynda Ann Saint John. She is survived by: her daughter Cheryll Smart Luper (Richard) of Newport; her siblings, Jerry Fortune, Shirley Kierig and Jeannie Haney; her grandchildren, Benjamin Luper (Cecillia), Hannah Luper, Trey Norris and Lucas Luper; her great grandchildren, Keenan Luper, Astrid Luper and Warren Luper; and her pet Bella.
