It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dena Read of Newport, Arkansas, who passed away on December 5, 2025, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her father Lowell Dean Cook; her husband Frankie Ray Read, Sr.; her siblings, Tena Denise Cook and Tony Cook; and her mother Martha Ann Ashcraft (Lassiter).
She is survived by: her daughter Andrea Conn of Newport; her grandson Drew Hembrey of Tuckerman; her stepsons, Frankie Read, Jr. of Osceola and Matt Read of Alaska; her siblings, Daniel Cook of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Tasha Hosmer of Mason City, Iowa; her stepmother Veta Cook of Ozark; her nieces, Jessica Metcalf (family: Kera Cook) and Ashli Dickey; and her aunts and uncles, Wayne Lassiter, Buddy Cook, Justine Dunn, Candace Dunn and Mary Cook.
