It is with sadness that the passing of Dorothea Nicholson of Newport, Arkansas is shared. Dorothea, born on October 22, 1941, passed away on October 11, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Rube Allen and Della Anschultz (Bradley); her husband Jerry Wayne Nicholson; her son Lindsey Allen Nicholson; and her siblings, Lannas C. Anschultz, James Allen Anschultz, R. K. Anschultz and Loretta Lindeman.
She is survived by: her daughter Linda Long (Nicholson) of Newport; her grandchildren, Polly Adams (Deanna Adams), John Alex Long (Shelby Lynn) of Springdale and Spencer "Nick" Long of Newport; her sister Sharon Clausen of Newport; her close friends, Pat McMurtry and Peggy Stephens; and her pet Maxwell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jackson's Newport Funeral Home (1900 Malcolm Ave, Newport, AR 72112). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
