With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Sandra Barker of Newport, Arkansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Sandra left this world on June 24, 2025 at the age of 80, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Ervin and Margaret Helen Bruske (Schreiber); her husband Calvin David Barker; and her siblings, Michael Eugene Cappitonoff, David Leroy Cappitonoff, Richard Grulkowski, Loretta Raby and Marie Antonette Grulkowski.
She is survived by: her son Curtis R. Johnson of Oskaloosa, Kansas; her stepdaughters, Kathy Odom (Mike) of Diaz, Karen Metzger (Wayne) of Newport, Lorrie Murphree (Floyd) of Sulphur Rock and Christy Beshears (David) of Tuckerman; and her sisters-in-law, Dovie Howard of Midway and Minnie Moore (Bobby) of Newport. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; many great and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jackson's Newport Funeral Home (1900 Malcolm Ave, Newport, AR 72112). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
