He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey Thompson, Sr. and Isabell Middleton Thompson; his brother Jerry Thompson; and his son-in-law Robert Shefelton, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Thompson of Richmond, Virginia; his daughter Sherry Thompson Shefelton of Norman; his grandchildren, Kalley Cline (Justin) of Norman, Robert Shefelton III (Annalisa) of San Antonio and Samantha Shefelton (Nicholas Baker) of DeQueen; and his great grandchildren, Laney Cline and Ada Grace Cline. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Glenwood First Baptist Church (904 US-70, Glenwood, AR 71943). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
