He was predeceased by: his parents, Fletcher Melton and Janie Melton of Frisco City, Alabama.; his wife Deborah Barrington Melton (Debbie); and his siblings, James Thomas (JT), Sidney Malachi, Tommy Jack, John Racho, Charles Kenneth, Fletcher Jackson Jr. (FJ), Mazie Mosley and Doris Majors (Dot).

He is survived by: his children, Keith Melton (Eimear) and Amanda Duquette (Eric) of San Mateo, CA; his grandchildren, Richard Allan, Owen, Gavin, Graham, Monroe and Arcadia; and his brother George Melton (Carolyn). He is also survived by nephews, nieces, cousins.
