He was predeceased by: his parents, Sherman Summitt and Effie Summitt (Smallwood); his siblings, Ray Summitt and Kathy Minton; and his nephew Eugene Minton.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Summitt; his son Michael Summitt (Tara); his sisters, Tammy Constantino (Poe) and Debbie Stokes (Tim); his granddaughters, Kaitlyn Curtis (Fletcher) and Abby Summitt; and his great grandchild Van Curtis. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Thornton Funeral Home Chapel (211 Luzerne St, Mt Ida, AR 71957). A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Rocky Cemetery (75 Rocky Cemetary Rd, Sims, AR 71969).
