He was predeceased by : his parents, James Banks, Sr. and Theodora Quinn Jackson. He is survived by : his children, Ortegas Gibson, Darius Banks, Jaylen Franks, Ciara Ward, Michel'le Banks, Tacora Gibson, Kabetria Banks, Shunica Banks, Antonia Banks, Mariah Franks and Shania Franks; and his siblings, Thomas Quinn, Earl Banks, Kellam Banks, J. J. Banks, Cherrie Lewis, Martha Lewis and Hope Banks. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
