It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Raper of Osceola, Arkansas, born in Belden, Mississippi, who passed away on April 22, 2024, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Dexter Raper and Fannie Raper; his wife Idell Raper; his son Jimmy Raper; his siblings, Ottis Raper, Lenoard Raper, Lawrence Raper, Blanche Green, Bessie Brown and Bernice Ritchey; and his sons-in-law, Phillip Wright and Paul Jackson.

He is survived by : his children, Irene Jackson, Barbara Wright (John Madigan), Dianna Clauss (Damon) and Dwayne Raper (Jeanie); his daughter-in-law Pat Raper; his sister-in-law Margaret Raper; and his extended family, Emmanuel Brown and Louis Dyche. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Roller-Swift Funeral Home (2173 US-61, Osceola, AR 72370). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
