He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Thomas Watkins, Sr. and Kathrine Goza Watkins; his wife Sara Alice Mabry Watkins of Ozark; his children, John Thomas Watkins, III (Gwen) of Little Rock, Doyle Watkins (Mandy) of Clarksville, Laurabeth Johnston (Jeff) of Cookson and Amanda Banning (Michael) of Clarksville; and his sister Joanie Schuler of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
