He was predeceased by : his parents, Leonard Dodson and Lettie Dodson; his sister Bonnie Hartsell; and his parents-in-law, Juliana Deang and Eladio Deang.

He is survived by : his wife Amelia Dodson; his children, Roel Agsaoay (Jogenia) of Copperas Cove, Robert Dodson of Bono, Melanie Thornton (Ronnie DuQuette) of Concord and Genia Dodson of Phoenix, Arizona; his siblings, Terry Dodson (Carla) of Hopkinsville, Jerry Dodson (Patty) of Jonesboro and Sandra Upton of Harvest; and his grandchildren, Shawnee Agsaoay, Roel Agsaoay Jr., Chris Melton and Nathan Melton.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Emerson Memorial Chapel (1629 E Nettleton Ave, Jonesboro, AR 72401). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
